Bring in the Kick
A friend of mine always laughs how little I use my legs when I swim. I guess at times I just get too comfortable and forget to bring in the kick. But lately I've tried to bring intentionality back to this important aspect of swimming. And it's really making a difference to how I feel in the water and the forward momentum I'm able to create.
"Leadership is not a noun. It's a verb. It's active. It's movement." - John Maxwell
As we enter the third week back delivering our programs in schools this theme of bringing in the kick keeps jumping around my mind. As the quote above suggests, leadership is a verb (doing word), not a person, place or thing (noun). The students we have the privilege to support remind me daily that making a difference (for self, others and the world around us) takes effort. So bringing in the kick seems important so we can propel ourselves forwards effectively and not just go through the motions each and every day.
"Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential." - Winston Churchill
We (our clients and us) are a community who believe:
In exploring the possibilities, discovering potential and acting authentically.
That our daily thoughts, words and actions matter.
That our journey will involve both successes and challenges, remembering that, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts” – Winston Churchill.
We are all capable of making a difference in our own and others’ lives.
We are all in this together!
We're loving being back for 2018 to again support the development of leadership potential. What a privilege it is to be inspired daily to bring in the kick by the incredible leaders we get to share our time and space with (young, old and everything in between). Dive in, lets courageously make 2018 the best year that it can be as we use our thoughts, words and actions to make a difference in our own and others lives.
