It's Not the Same, It's Different
What an extraordinary last few months it has been for schools here in NSW. Obviously it's not just in schools (or NSW) that these challenging restrictions are being navigated, it's just that this is where we are journeying with our clients. We're in awe again as to the way that schools have responded to the ever changing conditions and needs of their communities, finding innovative ways to connect with, support and inspire individuals and cohorts while students are remotely learning (and families are supporting this). It's definitely not the same, it's different.
"Sometimes our only mode of transportion is a leap of faith."
- Maragaret Shepherd
So as the Term 4 journey begins again today for our client schools with remote learning, they're also planning for the staggered return of students over the coming weeks. With all this happening we're so grateful to still have the opportunity to support the development of leadership potential through our Virtual experiences and Online Learning Programs this term. We've just completed our first Zoom session of the term this morning, helping learners to bring leadership to life within their spheres of influence. What an amazing group of Year 5 students to kick the term off with!
"Learning together even when we're apart."
We can't wait till we are back facilitating face to face within our client schools. This will obviously be a matter of when and how it becomes safe to do so. Until then though we'll continue walking shoulder to shoulder with students and staff, constantly being inspired by their ability to remain resilient, like the quote below explains accepting what is, and then working together to make a positive difference in our own and others' lives. We too are always striving to keep coming back to building something 'good'.
“Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it’s less good than the one you had before. You can fight it, you can do nothing but scream about what you’ve lost, or you can accept that and try to put together something that’s good.”
― Elizabeth Edwards
