Stage 3 Leadership Day

“Leadership is action, not position.” – Donald H. McGannon

- En masse experiences that are facilitated for groups of students with up to 150 participants.

- Program days are experiential, engaging and fun, with participants completing games, activities and challenges, with reflection, to explore the purposeful skills, attitudes and behaviours of being a leader.

- Students will have the opportunity to EXPLORE leadership (get curious about and challenge leadership paradigms), OWN leadership (develop a leader's lens and capacity to be a difference maker) and PRACTICE Being the Change (deepen connection, understand influence and know there's work to do).

- Day or multi day program options, predominantly for Year 5 (typically in third or fourth term) or Year 6 (typically in first or second term) separately, or together as a Stage 3 cohort (any term).

- Students are always met with all new games, activities and challenges each time as they build their leadership potential.

- Each term our clients receive an EDA Action Squad Challenge (Week 1) and Newsletter (Week 6) to further support the learning and leadership journeys of the participants and provide opportunities for meaningful connection to action beyond the program day.

"Cameron is exceptional and the way he presents leadership to the kids is the same. Our students were all engaged and learnt so much about all the key messages through authentic and meaningful activities and discussion. The course partnered beautifully with the work our school is doing in the 4C’s (Cooperation, Creative, Collaboration and Critical reflection). We look forward to partnering with you again" - Miranda North Public School

"Thanks for an outstanding day! The students greatly benefitted from all your knowledge, expertise and exceptional passion for leadership". - Roseville Public School

"Outstanding! The whole day flowed perfectly. Cameron's skill and knowledge was fabulous. Drawing on current research was excellent". - St. Thomas Aquinas, Bowral

Stage 3 Leadership Program

“We can not change what we are not aware of, and once we are aware, we cannot help but change.” – Sheryl Sandberg

- Sequential weekly sessions of 80 minutes in length facilitated for Stage 3 students over the course of a term.

- Each class in the cohort completes a session during each program day (e.g. 5/6B 9am - 10:20am, 5/6C 10:25 - 12:15pm with a 30 min recess in between, etc.).

- Program experiences are experiential, with participants completing games, activities and challenges, with reflection, to explore the purposeful skills, attitudes and behaviours of being a leader.

- Students will have the opportunity to CONNECT DEEPLY (vulnerability is celebrated so we can get honest), BUILD CHARACTER (move beyond judgement and perfection to experience real growth) and MAKE A DIFFERENCE (cooperative advantage becomes our individual and shared compass).

- After each session classroom teachers are provided with a reflection activity that can be completed before the next session to reinforce and assist in the practice of that week’s theme.

- Each term our clients receive an EDA Action Squad Challenge (Week 1) and Newsletter (Week 6) to further support the learning and leadership journeys of the participants and provide opportunities for meaningful connection to action beyond the program day.

""An extremely important and beneficial program for all students in Year 5, 6 and beyond. Our Year 5 students were fully engaged in every session and couldn't wait for the next Friday! Cameron is an enthusiastic, positive, approachable and kids relatable presenter. Thank you Cameron." - Maroubra Junction Public School

"The growth that was most evident was their attitude to tasks/situations that they may have previously found difficult. I see many students stepping outside their comfort zone and more willing to give things a go. They have been supportive of one another and are not afraid to recognise one another's achievements. The students have learnt to appreciate what makes each of their classmates unique and can verbalise their gratitude for this to them.

I enjoyed observing my students in a different setting. I also enjoyed watching Cameron's techniques, great PD for teachers too." - St. Paul’s, Camden

Elected Student Leaders Day

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams

- Inspiring and empowering experience for elected student leaders to help unlock their difference making potential.

- School communities choose a certain number of student leaders to participate in the experience e.g. captains, vice captains and house captains. School communities may offer this experience for their elected student leaders, or partner with other school communities to include more elected student leaders in the experience.

- A school community focus for the experience may include: development of a school action plan, deeper understanding of leadership and their roles as elected student leaders, influencing others and bringing about change as elected student leaders, etc.

- Elected Student Leaders will have the opportunity to STEP UP (with gratitude accept the journey, privilege and responsibilities associated with their roles), STEP OUT (move out of their comfort zones and collaboratively tap into big potential) and STEP TOGETHER (practice walking shoulder to shoulder as difference makers).

""The discussions Cameron had with the students about leadership were engaging, positive and honest. Students felt comfortable to participate in deep discussion. Games were challenging and appropriate. You have such a deep understanding of student leadership - which you impart to the students. Thanks!" - Hills/Dural Network of Department Schools

Elected Student Leaders Program

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – African Proverb

- Collaborative action program designed specifically to support elected student leaders and unlock their difference making potential.

- School communities choose a certain number of student leaders to participate in the program e.g. captains, vice captains and house captains (one to five school communities involved).

- A school community hosts the program experience/s that supports the embodying of their potential difference making, roles and responsibilities that these students will be navigating.

- Elected Student Leaders will have the opportunity to STEP UP (with gratitude accept the journey, privilege and responsibilities associated with their roles), STEP OUT (move out of their comfort zones and collaboratively tap into big potential) and STEP TOGETHER (walk shoulder to shoulder with other student leaders in their local area as difference makers).

- The student leaders and school communities are then supported with connection, collaboration and mentoring, including ongoing communication with Explore Discover Act, innovative action packs (resources to inspire, challenge and empower) and reconnection opportunities throughout the year.

""Cameron's positivity and energy was brilliant - the students were engaged, energised and excited about leadership. His communication and language use with the students was phenomenal." - Newtown Network of Department Schools
